Celebrations

International Fairy Day is coming, June 24

CELEBRATE FAIRIES!

So many reasons to celebrate in June – weddings, graduations, flag day, the first day of summer.

But, did you know that June 24th is International Fairy Day!

I didn’t, until I searched for June Holidays and found quite a few obscure ones. Days to celebrate foods (doughnuts, cheese, bomb pops, fudge and corn), activities (fly a kite, ride a motorcycle to work, weed your garden, among many), and a couple of rather famous birthdays (Donald Duck and Garfield the Cat) all add to the fun of June!

I’m happy to see that the charming fae folk are celebrated world-wide. Many cultures have a history and tradition of celebrating fairies. To paraphrase another fantasy character [the cowardly lion in The Wizard of Oz], “I do, I do, I do believe!” Do you?

We have one day a year set aside to celebrate these magical little beings, though they should be celebrated and enjoyed all year round. We at Living Bewitchingly look forward to celebrating with you.

Join us here for a fun and fascinating journey into the fae kingdom. Every day thru June 24, we will share some interesting facts about fairies – fairies in legends, art, music, literature, as well as fairies in the garden and in your home, and some craft projects to round out the week. Check back for all the updates. And have a magical fairy day!
