Many years ago I started a yearly tradition between Imbolc and Ostara of building an indoor fairy garden on my dining room buffet from scratch.
I recently woke up with a small, gentle voice whispering the words “doors of perception” in my ear. I do not fear these kinds of, what some might call, supernatural incidents. I worry not; it isn’t a form of insanity, but simply a natural occurrence of my higher-self, or unconscious spirit, speaking to me.
My inner garden goddess was basking in joy this week with a trip to a large local indoor garden center with my mom! The joyful sensory experience, with warmth on my skin and the smell of earth and plants was just what I needed! I found so many inspiring ideas for flowering plants, succulents and houseplants for my kitchen goddess window.
In an attempt to create a healing home that is comforting to my body, mind and spirit, I’ve been pondering the reasons “home” felt more relaxed and refreshing in the past than it does now, back when I was a child in the 70’s. And not just in my own home, but others as well. What is missing? What has changed?
We hope you have peace, love, joy, inspiration, prosperity and lots of magic in 2019! That is certainly our goal, and we will be here to share that joy and magic with you!
The local parks are of course beautiful in the summertime, but in the early winter there is a kind of subtle magic. When we are not distracted by the stunning beauty of flowers, bright green leaves and vibrant energy-giving sunshine, it allows us to slow down and feel the essence of nature, to see and hear the soul of the plants and trees, to listen to the whispers in the breeze, to feel the calm in the flow of the water. Nature is truly in a peaceful slumber… the way I believe we are meant to be during this time of year.
Many people are suffering these days from a case of excessive ego; constant complaining, anger, paranoia, fear and hate. The ego exists in “reality”, but once you have an awakening moment when you realize that reality is not real (reality is what the dark “shadow” part of your mind, A.K.A. the ego, created and tells you is real), then you begin to go on the journey to find the truth.
In the midst of the chaotic energies and frustrated people going around this holiday season, we stepped away from the world and entered into magical kitchen elf mode to make handmade rolled cookies and candy bark. It was a merry and more traditional Christmas activity, that we have been so desiring!
I went out on a search to find relaxing music and videos to play to celebrate the beginning of the magical season, and to play in the background while I decorate for the holidays. I found it a bit of a challenge to find Christmas music and videos that are relaxing and zen, but I had success and decided to share them with all of you! I hope you enjoy your Yule decorating and winter season! Enjoy and Happy Holidays!
